Risk Awareness
Risk is an inevitable part of everyday life. Whether crossing the road, preparing and handling hot food and liquids, or managing medical conditions, these are all part of our daily lives. However, risks can be magnified when undertaking expeditions and adventurous activities.
All adventurous activities and expeditions carry with them a certain amount of risk, and can result in physical or psychological injury, or (in extreme cases) can be fatal. We can't avoid risk, but all of us can identify risks and hazards, and ensure we take all reasonable precautions to keep everyone safe.
Health and Safety
Delivering safe expeditions is the responsibility of everyone:
Participants
Fully engage and attend all training, workshops & information sessions.
Listen to the training and advice provided by your expedition leader.
Read through the online training and factsheets on this website.
BE PREPARED - ensure you have appropriate clothing, kit and food.
Parents
Complete our Medical Consent Form promptly and fully. Full disclosure of all medical information is essential.
Check that you know where the drop-off and pick-up locations are and what time - these will be on the Joining Instructions. Please arrive in good time to avoid participants having to wait around.
