Animals can be scary, especially larger animals such as cows. Remember, they are just inquisitive and may be more scared than you!

Here are our tips when walking through a field of cows:

• Before entering the field, identify your exits.

• Go around the cows, not through them.

• Don’t walk between a mum and her calves.

• Keep quiet – don’t shout or scream.

• If there is a dog in the field, allow it to leave before you enter the field.

If in doubt, discuss with your Supervisor.
