When walking along or crossing roads:

Walk in single file on the right side of the road, facing traffic.
Be visible in front and rear.
Don’t walk along busy major roads.
Use public rights of way and avoid roads where possible.
Take care round blind bends – walk on the outside of the bend.
Make sure you can see past each other’s rucksacks when crossing.
