Have the correct route marked on your map.
Use your routecard for your route description and time!!!!
Use a watch to check the time. Know when you should arrive at your checkpoint.
When at a stile, check your route through the field and how to get out!
Work together as a team. Share the navigation – don’t leave it to one person!
Concentrate - keep checking your route.
Take regular breaks at agreed points.
Eat and drink regularly to keep your energy levels up – this helps concentration.
Keep regular checks on landmarks that you can identify.
If you do end up on the wrong track, go back to the last point you recognise.
If you do find yourself running more than an hour late, please advise your Supervisor.
